While setting up the Your Phone app, you'll be prompted to enable access to your Android device's messages, but if you choose not to at that point, you can always turn it on in the Your Phone app settings.

To do this, open the Your Phone app, go to Settings, and under Messages, turn on the toggles for:

  • Allow this app to show text messages from my phone

  • Allow this app to send MMS attachments from my phone

  • Allow this app to receive MMS attachments from my phone

  • Automatically download MMS attachments from my phone

  1. IMessage is faster than SMS or MMS: SMS and MMS messages are sent using different technology than your iPhone uses to connect to the internet. You can send photos and other large files a lot faster using iMessage than you can using MMS messages.
  2. Your iPhone’s Messages app lets you exchange MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service protocol) messages, so you can use your iPhone to exchange pictures, contacts, videos, ringtones, other audio recordings, and locations with any cell phone that supports the MMS protocol.
